»Debriefing is a meta search engine written entirely with Java servlets, available in French and English.« Source

Jill T. Freeze (2002): »This engine searches AOL, HotBot, Excite, Altavista, MSN, Fast Web Seearch, and Yahoo! For starters, Debriefing's results are ranked in order of how many times a page appeared on search engine top ten results lists. For example, if you searched Debriefing for calico cats, the results displayed would reflect the links that most often appeared an various search engines' top ten lists. The more search engines rank a site in their top ten list, the higher it is placed in the Debriefing results list. You can increase or decrease the amount of time Debriefing gives itself toperform the search using the Advanced options.« Source

»Debriefing "is a meta search engine that uses altavista, infoseek, excite, yahoo and hotbot to display a sorted list of relevant search results and help you find MP3, music, files, free stuff to download." [Rene Belso's evaluation: Meta: AltaVista, Yahoo, Infoseek, Excite, Webcrawler, Lycos and Hotbot. Undocumented and not customisable. But, very fast and seemingly potent (it's French). Result is 10 hits at a time, each two lines (title, engine and url-address).]« Source

»Debriefing's meta search engine uses: AltaVista, Yahoo, Infoseek, Excite, Webcrawler, Lycos, Hotbot. In the French version, it uses Yahoo France, PagesWeb, Infoseek France, Excite France and Lokace. It forwards the queries simultaneously to these search services, collects the results, and ranks them. It removes duplicates and lists the most frequently recurring domain name for the search in question.« Source

webwereld (2000): »Surfboard will eventually merge all its brands -, and - with Ixquick. Recently, Ixquick's technology has already been behind these search services, although this is not clear to the user at first sight. "In the end, there will only be one site: Ixquick", says Van der Velden.« Source
